See something. Do something.

Perhaps you've been staring at the pile of papers on your desk or behind you and like Halloween it's beginning to feel creepy as you approach your office area.

Now is the time to tackle what's in front of you. It's not easy to take this on but a few tips might help as you confront what's in front of you.

1) Start with just 1 pile. Make that your day's clearing assignment.

2) Take the stack or part of the stack and go through what's there.

3) Are there duplicates or copies? Can you scan what's there and store in your computer or phone?

4) Do you need a hard copy of each piece of paper?

5) Are some pages no longer necessary to store? 6) Think about how you are feeling now that you began this project? Are you already tired, discouraged, excited? 7) Sort what you must have, need or want and then take a brief 5 minute intermission.

8) File, toss, finish the papers you have taken on.

9) Stop after about 20 minutes.

10) Reward yourself for the work you've accomplished. Remember: You have taken on something and done something. Good work.
